Sara Yates is the legal intern for Leaffer Law Group where she assists attorneys with research and documentation, as well as with the firm’s administrative functions. Before joining Leaffer Law, Sara worked for several local nonprofits including the Gill Foundation and ProgressNow. She is currently applying to law schools in hopes of pursuing constitutional, corporate or nonprofit law.
Sara’s longtime interest in the Constitution led her to pursue undergraduate coursework in Constitutional Law, Judicial Process, Civil Liberties, and Politics & Theory of the First Amendment. While in college, Sara served as a member of the Wesleyan Democrats and the Center for Prison Education club. She was also a member of the Government Majors Committee where she worked with the faculty hiring committee in hiring new professors, addressed concerns of the majors with the respective departments, and participated in the department audit that happens every 10 years.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and all that Colorado’s outdoors have to offer.
I have fallen in love with mission based work and the opportunity to focus on making Colorado a better place."
